Our comprehensive girls’ education and empowerment program make us different from other grass-roots NGOs. In addition to complete educational scholarships, we focus on enabling our scholars to become strong, independent, and confident leaders who will pay it forward.
EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
We provide disadvantaged girls in Peru who come from families of extremely limited economic resources with complete educational scholarships to attend university. We search for young women who are driven to pursue their dreams of becoming professionals who can improve the lives of others around the world.
PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT
PH scholars receive full psychosocial support from our team of professionals. Our scholars work directly with our program psychologist to overcome obstacles, improve self-esteem, and become strong women leaders. This strong sense of self, will allow our scholars to use their education to go out into the world and make a difference.
HEALTHCARE
Our scholars receive regular medical checkups and exams in addition to any necessary healthcare or medical expenses that arise during their time in our program. In order to study at university and make the most of their education, our scholars’ emotional and physical health must be a top priority.
1:1 MENTORSHIP
Each PH scholar is paired one-to-one with a mentor in the United States or Peru to help encourage, guide, and support their growth during this period of transition and personal transformation. Our mentors plan an important role in providing our scholars with positive encouragement and moral support.
We currently support 33 PH scholars with complete educational scholarships to attend public and private universities in Cusco, Lima, and Colorado.
